Langmeil Winery

Corner Langmeil and Para Roads

About This Attraction

Family owned and operated, Langmeil is believed to be the home of the Barossa and Australia's oldest known surviving vineyard planted to Shiraz in 1843, where the iconic 'Freedom 1843 Shiraz' hails. Although it is only 15 vintages since the Bitter and Lindner families re-established the abandoned winery, Langmeil has had considerable success and has been awarded 'Five Star' rating in the James Halliday Australian Wine Competition six consecutive years in a row. Langmeil has been highlighted as one of the emerging Australian icon wineries with Langton's. Without contradiction, Langmeil wines are 'cutting edge and old school' quality Barossa wine.
